Sarah Khoei

I am a 5th-year Ph.D. candidate in Finance at the University of Kentucky and will be on the 2025–2026 academic job market. My research sits at the intersection of household finance, public policy, and FinTech, with a primary focus on U.S. consumer credit. My current projects (i) test the fragility of automated underwriting under stress and data uncertainty, (ii) study policy pass-through with an emphasis on how financial intermediaries shape outcomes in auto lease markets, and (iii) quantify how exogenous interest-rate shocks affect borrower default. My work has been presented at leading conferences, including the American Finance Association (AFA) and the Financial Management Association (FMA). In the classroom, I served as the primary instructor at the undergraduate level, where I emphasized clarity, fairness, and timely feedback to foster student learning and success.

Research interests: household finance, public policy, FinTech, corporate finance
